Revere Pewter Makes Kitchen and Countertops New Again
I’m still adjusting to Benjamin Moore’s Revere Pewter. In a good way. After almost 20 years with wheat-colored walls dominating the kitchen, I still catch myself in moments of awe over the newness of the wall color. Even months later.
When these fleeting moments of wonderment occur, I find myself smiling to myself. I love how clean, neat and crisp this color is with showcasing artwork, décor and furnishings. In this post, I’ll share how Revere Pewter looks in the kitchen and hallway areas to follow up on the living room reveal post, part one of the open-concept area of our main floor.
Greige with Green Undertones
I started out looking for a gray paint that pulled in green undertones, which is what attracted me to Revere Pewter in the first place. I couldn’t face beige walls again and didn’t want to chance picking a finicky gray and risk it going chameleon on me. After all the work involved with picking the perfect paint, I’m very pleased with how this neutral greige transitions through my home as gray while picking up green and earthy undertones. It’s exactly what I wanted.
Let me say here that Revere Pewter will continue to be popular because it’s a classic and neutral greige. It’s currently on the waning side of being the hot, go-to color over the past decade. I picked Revere Pewter because it suits my color scheme. I lean toward classic colors and styles that withstand the test of time while making me happy versus what’s trendy.
New Color Updates Countertops
My obsessive streak came into play again when trying to find a neutral wall paint that would complement the black Uba Tuba granite countertops without screaming early 2020s. Luckily, white cabinets are timeless and versatile and work especially well with a black granite.
I knew I could refresh (modernize even!) the look of our kitchen without a full kitchen update with the right wall color. I must admit that I’m already contemplating a refresh with new shaker cabinet doors and island, but that’s still a long way off!
Using Revere Pewter, I focused on the overall black color of the stone first and then considered how to pull in its flecks of green and silver. Unlike in 2003, when I was fixated on the granite’s shiny gold speckles. As much as I loved the former beigy-gold then, I love the griege with green undertones today even more. See images of the previous color in the behind the scenes of color reboot post.
Green Accent Colors
Somehow, green accent colors weaved its way into our interior color refresh without me even expecting it. I was drawn to paints in the sage family that would add color to offset the neutral walls, so I picked Antique Jade for the front and garage doors. In addition, instead of going with a traditional dark gray for the staircase to the basement as originally planned, I opted for Wethersfield Moss, a lovely olive color.
Looking Regal in the Hallways
Revere Pewter is more saturated in hallways and stairwells because there’s less natural light. This provides a stately background that makes the white woodwork pop in areas with trim around doors and stair risers.
I hope this post inspires you to tackle some interior projects. A little paint goes a long way to improve the overall look of your home spaces. Plus, new colors give you the opportunity to refresh your décor starting with what you currently have by relocating items around the house.

I love all these colors. I probably wouldn’t have thought to pick that combo but it looks great. Makes me want to paint.
Beautiful!
Love your choice of paint colors and decision to add color to the stairs ad well. The Wethersfield Moss is so pretty.
Looks lovely! New paint is the easiest refresh. I am looking forward to doing the same.
I really like the sage doors. Your house is warm and inviting.
